Paul Hardingham - A Life Summary (so far!)
As I started to write this section of the site I put together
a biography that would have had you falling asleep at the computer,
so instead, here's some bullet points to keep it short and snappy!
Personal
- Born 1968 in Southend, Essex. UK.
- Married Joanna in October 1996
- Grace, born in 2001
- Moved to Scotland in 2003
- Bethanie, born 2007
- October 2009, moved to Yorkshire
Career
- Degree in electronics, Portsmouth Polytechnic (now University).
- Electronic design engineer for GEC, Basilson (6 years) - starting
salary £4,100 p.a.
- Sales Engineer with a small electronics firm in Hitchin (7
years) - starting salary £14,000 p.a.
- Started my own internet marketing business 2001. Salary: unlimited.
"Achievements"
- Run my own business since 2001
- Played drums in a band with someone who's played guitar with
Sir Cliff Richard (that's as close as it comes to a "claim
to fame" for me!)
- Extremely happy and content
- Was number 1 in Google for the search "cheap mobile phones"
for about 2 years from 2002 to 2003 - out of around 180,000,000
sites!
Likes
- Syrup steam sponge pudding and custard
- Walking in lovely countryside
- Not having to be worried about losing my job - I don't have
one!
- Photographs (almost any type, I just love pictures - I'm not
a great book reader!)
- Having the freedom to take a break when I want, not when some
employer tells me I can take a break
- Drumming
- Surfing the internet
- Positive "will try anything" type people.
Dislikes
- Public speaking
- People who are just plain nasty and see "success"
is a bad thing
- Opera
- Having to explain to people I'm happy drinking tap water and
not drinking tea or coffee is not weird.
- People saying "It's alright for you Paul, I couldn't
do what you've done". I believe anyone who has a genuine
passion to do something, usually can do it.
